What does pelvic floor therapy entail?
Sessions are tailored to each client’s specific needs. An assessment will be performed on the condition of your pelvic floor by reviewing your personal history, talking with you about your concerns and objectives, and by examining your internal (vaginal) and external body structures.
Education, exercises, stretches, lifestyle modifications, dry needling, desensitization techniques, mindfulness training, modalities, massage, and myofascial release are common treatments performed during therapy sessions. These treatments are usually taught to clients to perform on their own between each therapy session, which leads to optimal healing and results.
I apply the biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to patient care, understanding that each dimension of a person - the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual - directly affect the other parts and one’s overall health. Together we will work through your concerns and determine the most effective therapeutic treatment so you can begin to feel restored and return with greater freedom to the daily activities you need and want to do!
